IM Capital at the 3rd LDE North America Conference
The 3rd edition of the “Lebanese Diaspora Energy – LDE North America” (http://lde-leb.com) was held on the 15th and 16th of September 2018 at the “Palais des Congrès de Montréal”. This edition was characterized by its “NextGen Vibe” theme that will give the spotlight to the emerging talent with their innovative ideas, aspirations and entrepreneurial spirit. Dr. Rouhana, GM of IM Capital, was a panelist on the “Multicultural Innovation Corridor” revolving around the current status of the Lebanese startups ecosystem and its needs to bridge, discuss how startups have benefited from being part of the Lebanese and north American one, discuss what Ecosystems, VCs and corporates in North America and Canada in particular are looking for to attract foreign innovation and expand in ecosystems, and what the current ecosystem can offer to the startups that have a product market fit in north America. On the panel were also Mr. Toufic Azar, Co-founder and CEO, MEACOR (IM Capital portfolio) and Mr. Maroun Chammas, Chairman and CEO Berytech (MENA II Chief of Party).
Dr. Rouhana was also a mentor and a judge in the hackathon competition “Startup Sprint” organized during the LDE, that featured 9 teams that pitched their innovative startup ideas. 
A “Start-up village” exhibition also featured IM Capital portfolio namely Moodfit and Taqa, and a few Speed@Bdd accelerator graduated companies: Spike, Cherpa, NAR, Scriptr & Towbe. 
The LDE Montreal was an exceptional experience with a dynamic audience of youth, experts, entrepreneurs, as well as high representatives of the economic, cultural and political sectors in Lebanon and in North-America. Furthermore, Dr. Rouhana and Ms Brigitte Baumann (founder of Go-Beyond and partners of the Seeders program) animated a session at the Banque Nationale du Canada and organized by the Chambre de Commerce Canada Liban, that grouped more than 20 Lebanese Canadian executives and investors to listen to the “Seeders of Canada”, a program proposed that will accompany Lebanese diaspora executives living in Canada (and Montreal in particular) in their business angel readiness journey through a MasterClass for Business Angels (MBA) education program. 
The attendees had a chance to listen to the presentation of Moodfit, interact with the entrepreneur, debrief on the project and give feedback.
