Taqa Opens a Gorgeous Bakery Boutique for Health Lovers in Gemeyzeh

Soumaya Merhi, a bubbly young entrepreneur with great ambitions from Tripoli marked Friday May 12, 2017 as a day to remember in her entrepreneurship journey; Taqa boutique saw the light at the heart of Gemmeyzeh. Soumaya started her 400 square meter factory in 2013 in Tripoli shortly after returning from Montreal where she studied food economics and worked in a patisserie with a Japanese chef using dried food and nuts. It was actually her father’s idea to push her to make wheat-free bread. She started small, selling in Souk El Tayeb, and today, the main items produced include Arabic bread made of rye, oat and spelt, in addition to vegan maamoul and locally made healthy energy bars, the taqa bar, inspired by an old Lebanese pastry. Taqa also produces cookies, granola, kaak and buns. The boutique is perfectly located in a green sunlit spot, reflecting wholesomeness and great vibes. Pass by Rue Pasteur on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a break of the city noise and a yummy healthy treat.
