Siroun Shamigian, Kamkalima’s Co-Founder, Nominated for The Cartier Women’s Initiative Award
The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards have been running since 2006. The initiative is an international business plan competition in partnership with Cartier, the Women’s Forum, McKinsey & Company and INSEAD Business School, to identify and support women entrepreneurs around the world. Six Laureates, one from each continent (Asia & Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, North America, Sub-saharan Africa) are honored annually for the creativity, financial sustainability and social impact of their start-up businesses. In their 2018 edition, Siroun Shamigian, co-founder of Kamkalima, one of IM Capital’s portfolio companies, was nominated for the Middle East and North Africa region alongside two MENA-based entrepreneurs: Noha Khater from Egypt, co-founder of Almouneer Diabetic Eye Care Center providing accessible healthcare to diabetic patients in Egypt facing retinal problems and Hanan Khader, founder of Hello World Kids a platform that teaches children and teenagers coding.All three were competing with more than 2800 entrepreneurs from 130 countries breaking ground in science, education and entrepreneurship. In the final and second round, the 18 finalists representing the top three projects of each region will submit a detailed business plan and present their projects in front of the Jury during the Cartier Awards Week. Based on the quality of the plan and the persuasiveness of the verbal presentation, one Laureate for each of the six regions will be selected. The announcement of the 6 winners will take place during the Awards Ceremony in Singapore scheduled on April 26th, 2018. To know about the prizes, click here.
