IM Capital participates in the TechneSummit 2017 in Alexandria

Dr. Nicolas Rouhana, IM Capital General Manager, was invited by Techne Summit to speak in the investment track during Techne Summit 2017 at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt from September 30 - October 1, 2017. This investment track provided an opportunity to bring together investors from all over the world, angel investor groups, VCs, economic development organizations from every corner of the nation, and other parties working to facilitate business investments (such as accelerators and incubators). Featuring government officials, business executives, and other thought leaders. The Track consisted of a 2-day program for both first-time & experienced private and institutional investors. Participants gained valuable insight into strategies, practical and concrete information on how to invest and grow in the region, and details on the latest economic trends and resources. Dr. Rouhana was panelist in two workshops in that track: 1) Successful Cooperation | Are all VCs bad? Not necessarily, a discussion on organizational and cultural differences, Angel Investors and VCs can both complement each other and benefit from a close relationship - Success stories of VC and Angel Investors cooperation, and, 2) Regional Cooperation and How can Investment Groups successfully cooperate and merge into regional networks? A discussion of best practices and long-term benefits. Dr. Rouhana was also on the jury of MO4 competition at Techne Summit. MO4 Network and its entrepreneurial platform, Startup Scene ME, were three media startups leveraging on VR, AI, and social media for innovative storytelling; startups focused on content marketing, entertainment, or media and got the opportunity to pitch their ideas for a chance to be boosted by the Middle East’s most disruptive media group. The winning startups will join the MO4 media incubation programme, with up to $10,000 in services and mentorship from the media giant’s wicked mind-masters. Techne Summit 2017 was held under the auspicious of The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology where Minister H.E. Eng. Yasser El Kady led the event’s opening ceremony along with current Alexandria Governor Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Zaher.   More info at www.technesummit.com
