The Business Angels Week (BAW) - the world’s largest cross-border angel investment awareness initiative featuring Business Angels and Entrepreneurs from Europe, the Middle East (MBAN) and Africa (ABAN) - was launched during the first day of the European Trading Business Angels Network (EBAN) Winter University & Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the presence of more than 500 Angel Investors and Entrepreneurs. The BAW was celebrated during the week of 16-22 November 2015 to emphasize the importance of the early stage sector and in particular that of business angels. As part of its mandate, IM Capital is engaged in developing a business angel network in Lebanon and creating a network of seasoned mentors for the Lebanese eco-system, building capacity and ensuring sustainability of such networks. In this respect, IM Capital became a recent member of EBAN, and a founding member of MBAN. Dr. Rouhana, GM of IM Capital, was invited as a panelist in an “accelerator” session, as well a judge in the pitching competition. It was an opportunity for IM Capital team members to present the program, meet peers and learn about business angels networks around the world to try to replicate in Lebanon. IM Capital is currently in talks already with the Chamber of Commerce of Beirut and Kafalat as strategic independent partners in building this network.
