IM Capital invited to the Makerfaire Rome

The Italian Trade Agency in collaboration with Innovacamera Roma invited IM Capital and innovation-oriented companies to attend the Maker Faire, that took place at the Rome District Fair from 12 till 14 October 2018. The Italian Trade Agency ITA is a Governmental agency that supports the business development of the Italian companies worldwide and promotes the attraction of foreign investment to Italy. The Exhibition is a destination for many makers showing their designs, and projects to investors, professional and public. The 2017 Maker's edition hosted 650 projects, 256 light talks, conferences and workshops and was visited by 100,000 attendees. For visitors, the Maker Faire Rome presented a unique opportunity to preview and interact with innovation. For makers, entrepreneurs, start uppers, and medium-, small-, and very-small-sized enterprises, it provides a moment of dialogue with established international companies that have chosen the event as a launchpad for their products and innovations, and to scout new talent. As a VC fund investing in Lebanese early-stage startups, the interest of IM Capital to attend the Makerfaire was many folds: 1/ learn the current trends in the makers industry, and what is drawing the most VC funding (from Italy or Europe) 2/ identify (Italian, European) VCs in the maker space, and partner with them to co-invest in Lebanese startups and opportunities 3/ identify possible Italian startups wanting to establish a presence in Lebanon to penetrate the MENA Market and benefit from the talent and economical landscape to grow their markets and support the development and growth 4/ identify Italian partners from the maker ecosystem that would be interested to assist in setting up a hardware accelerator and associated fund in Lebanon 5/ find (Italian) partners to our portfolio companies in the maker space to either subcontract jobs, either help penetrate the Italian and European market
