IM Capital Invited to Speak at SOCAP Conference, San Francisco, Oct 23-26, 2018
SOCAP is the world’s leading conference activating the capital markets to drive positive social and environmental impact – convening the marketplace at the intersection of money and meaning. The conference brings together impact investors, social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, business leaders and other innovators from across the world in a unique cross-sector approach to catalyze collaboration for change. SOCAP has gathered over 20,000 people in the past ten years to accelerate the flow of capital for good. IM Capital was invited to speak at the panel “Building Social Entrepreneurship Around the World”, and how have a handful of courageous and dedicated individuals created infrastructure for social entrepreneurs in their countries, without benefit of government support, university curriculums, or philanthropic support. Panelists were from around the world who have built from the ground up business incubators, educated generations of new social entrepreneurs, and sourced capital to support them, lessons learned and how can the SoCap community support further development in other regions of the world. Featured as well in this session was Fabric Aid, a successful social startup from Lebanon.
IM Capital was also invited to share its experience and give feedback to the students’ teams at the “Social Lean Launchpad” class at Haas-Berkeley.
