On March 9^th we celebrated the teacher and the extraordinary woman entrepreneur behind Kamkalima, Siroun Shamigian.

During her teaching journey, Siroun has always integrated technology in her Biology classes that made her students achieve outstanding results. She was then tasked by the school principal to support other teachers to apply the same teaching technique. After the Arabic teachers voiced their frustration due to the lack of support through teaching tools, Siroun decided to rectify the problem.

In 2014, she left her job and started her entrepreneurial journey by founding kamkalima: an educational technology tool that targets school students, leveraging the latest advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning to help students improve their writing skills. IM Capital welcomed this "out of the box" idea and in 2016 decided to invest in $200K in kamkalima.

Today, Siroun leads a team of 18, who show hard work and commitment through their work. More than 20,000 students and more than 500 teachers in 8 countries including: Lebanon, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, KSA, UAE, Bahrain and China, have benefited from this platform.
