IM Capital Celebrates its Women Entrepreneurs: Huda Baroudi and Maria Hibri the Co-founders of Bokja Design Studio

Behind each hand-made product is a story inspired by the two Women Artisan Entrepreneurs Huda Baroudi and Maria Hibri the Co-founders of Bokja Design Studio

Throughout the years, Huda and Maria collected precious fabrics from the Levant region, cities along the Silk Road of Central Asia. The pair’s common passion to antique, textiles and design led them to establish Bokja in the year 2000 where new and vintage textiles are used to create vibrant handmade accessories and furniture pieces.

Acknowledging the duo’s dreams and ambitions to expand and grow, IM Capital invested $500K in Bokja Design Studio in 2017 in order to hire additional talents, strengthen their marketing and merge the atelier and the boutique into one space where visitors can get a real feel of the effort and dedication behind the beautiful creations.

More than 20 talented craftsmen and women from 10 countries such as Iraq, Syria, Kurdistan, Egypt and Lebanon are freely expressing and creating designs at Bokja.

Huda and Maria: “Our language of textiles tells the stories of what is happening around us, from headlines in the news, to political demonstrations and social affairs. Basically, what is on our minds will eventually end up on our designs.”
