The Conference “Creating Sustainable Businesses in Mediterranean Countries – Theories, Tools and Success Stories” took place in Milan 25-26 June, gathering scientists, entrepreneurs, professionals and startuppers interested in launching a common research project to elaborate operating principles and tools applicable in the creation of sustainable businesses and that are consistent with the Mediterranean ecosystem. By presenting successful startup case studies, it is possible to pinpoint the distinctive features of young successful businesses and to define general principles from which future entrepreneurs intending to launch new sustainable initiatives in this part of the world, can draw upon. Dr. Nicolas Rouhana, IM Capital GM, was invited as a panelist, presenting in his session a comparison between the academic world and the world of our incubators. Academics presented and disseminated their study in a new Mediterranean model, while Dr. Rouhana discussed practical ways and successful works on helping SMEs and start-up to start their business, going beyond a solely Mediterranean perspective.
