Cherpa Offers a Hand to the Schools, Teachers and Students Affected by the Blast
The August 4th tragedy that rocked Lebanon’s capital city, Beirut, has weakened the education system even further. The Beirut blast led to damage and destruction of hundreds of public and private schools across the city, thus constraining education delivery for a huge number of affected learners.
Cherpa, one of IM Capital's portfolio companies, is committed to giving back to schools, teachers, and students, by providing its platform and online services to all those affected by the blast.
As part of the من_قلبي_دعم_لبيروت# relief initiative launched by IM Capital and funded by USAID, Cherpa was able to deliver STEAM courses (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and e-content trainings, empowering students with state of the art tech courses. Two Coding courses (Coding a Smart City & Coding in Space) & Cybersecurity course have been completed by the schools through free student accounts. In addition, e-content training sessions were given to the instructors, helping them to create engaging and interactive digital educational content using various tools and resources.
Cherpa’s team is honored and proud to be serving 8 schools, 85 instructors and 3,356 students affected by the blast, so they can continue their learning journey in a fun and interactive way.
