The explosion which took place in Beirut’s port district on Tuesday August 4 is unprecedented. Large parts of the Lebanese capital have been destroyed, reportedly leaving up to 300,000 people homeless. Many traumatized residents -particularly the elderly - were unwilling to leave their damaged houses and decided to sleep inside or just outside on the street.

With the wet and cold weather around the corner, Bokja, one of IM Capital's portfolio companies, was extremely worried about displaced families having to face even harsher conditions than they were already facing.

As part of the من_قلبي_دعم_لبيروت# relief initiative launched by IM Capital and funded by USAID, Bokja has decided to help individuals and families who have been affected by the Beirut Blast by carrying on with what they know they do best: creating unique handmade pieces and gathering personal stories.

Their Heartfelt Support for Beirut has been translated into 100 Bed Covers Handcrafted in Lebanon and Made with Love to keep 100 Households Warm, using one of the oldest Levantine craft techniques.
