Born on the 1st of December 1972 in Beirut, Lebanon.
After BS degrees in Biology and Pharmacy from the American University of Beirut and Lebanese American University consecutively, Walid Hallassou pursued an Executive MBA from Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA) and the ESCP-EAP School of Management. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Lebanese Healthcare Management Association, member of the Lebanese Businessmen Association (RDCL) and a founding member of the Cercle des Dirigeants of ESA Business School.
Walid Hallassou joined GlobeMed Lebanon, previously known as MedNet Liban, as Profit Center Manager – Prescription Medicine Benefits. In July 2008, W. Hallassou was appointed Project Manager and then Vice President in charge of International Business Development and Operations in newly formed know-franchisor GlobeMed Limited.
Walid Hallassou was appointed as General Manager of GlobeMed Lebanon in 2012. He enjoys rich business insights and remarkable track record in the healthcare industry, thanks to 18 years of experience working in both the pharmaceutical and healthcare benefits management fields, with major emphasis on the design and implementation of solutions for the healthcare management sector in the Middle East and Africa.
Walid Hallassou significantly contributed in creating the first e-claims system in the region. He also played a vital role in setting up Healthcare Benefits Management Organizations in execution of GlobeMed franchising contracts in Côte d’Ivoire, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan.
