Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Regional office South Mediterranean organized “MENA Business Angel Focus Camp” on October 20-24th 2017 in Istanbul, in partnership with “Startup Istanbul”. The focus camp aimed to create a new generation of smarter and informed Angel investors who will help promote a more sustainable startup eco-systems in MENA, often suffering from a lack of seed and early stage funding. Participants to this event were wealthy individuals, family offices interested in the startup ecosystem or might have invested in one or two startups and would like to understand the fundamentals of investing in startups, and came from Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, and Turkey. Dr. Nicolas Rouhana, GM of IM Capital was invited to give a session on “Creating Angel Groups, Seeders Case Lebanon”. The participants also attended an Angel Investor Workshop Day at Startup Istanbul (www.startupistanbul.com), and networked together with 200 Angel Investors from all over the world. The participants also got to visit Kolektif House Coworking Space, and meet startups and Business Angels Organizations at Kolektif, in partnership with Founder Institute Istanbul & Sabanci University.
