LWAF Awareness Session in Tripoli
On Monday, the 6th of November 2017, LWAF gave an awareness session in the heart of the North, Tripoli. The trip was organized by the Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB) and consisted of two consecutive meetings. The first was grouping some NGOs representatives in the North all supporting the education and job opportunity creation for the youth in the region as well as the creation of opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The other was the LLWB Join & Grow Tripoli Chapter, with more than 40 attendees
In both meetings, Asma Zein, President of LLWB, presented the updates about LLWB activities, including LWAF. Renee Gharios presented IM Capital, and LWAF, the collaboration between IM LLWB and Go Beyond, talked about Angel investing, explained the details of the program and its pre-requisites, shared details about the application process, the investors and welcomed women entrepreneurs and North-based MSMEs to apply.
While some people thought it was an intrusion to family businesses, many entrepreneurs saw it as a growth opportunity (funding, network, expansion, expertise, etc.) Several people showed interest in the program.
